LOMBOK
A narrow strait separates Lombok from Bali and getting there is a simple choice between air or sea crossings. Several ferries operate between Bali and Lombok, from high-speed catamaran, to ancient traditionally slow moving ferries or just a 25-minute flight from Denpasar. Untouched, this tranquil island still maintains an intriguing Old World charm with its horse-drawn-carts and quiets villages. Youll see tropical forests with chattering monkeys, gently terraced rice fields, beautiful deserted beaches, and lovely coral islands easily reached by traditional boats. Like Bali, there are colorful markets, ancient temples and palaces, and traditional villages known for their distinctive styles of weaving and pottery making. Because of its proximity to Bali, Lombok can be a wonderful excursion in the middle of your holiday or the perfect relaxing conclusion.
SUKARARA
Renowned for its traditional weaving, the techniques for which have been handed down from mother to daughter for generations. Each piece of cloth is woven on a handloom in established patters and colors and frequently interwoven with gold, silver, and silk thread.
SURANADI
A small temple and gardens, one of Lomboks oldest. See the rebuilt baths of kings carved in the Balinese style and icy clean water bubbling up from natural springs. Drop an egg in the water of the temple of the Holy Eels and watch the eels swim out conduits.
SENGGIGI BEACH
The coral and snorkeling at this popular beach area is fantastic four straight kilometer of pure white sand, blue-green sea, waving coconut palms and no crowds.
THE GILI ISLANDS
The three tiny islands of Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan are magnificent, unpopulated, and completely unspoiled. These islands offer brilliant marine life and coral for snorkeling and skin diving, plus exquisite seashells.
MT. RINJANI
Famed for its great beauty and eerie isolation, Mt. Rinjani (.3726 meters high) is the fourth- highest mountain in Indonesia, towering over every corner of Lombok. Shrouded in mists throughout most of the day, the enormous crater of its semi-active volcano is nearly filled with the bright emeraldgreen water of lake Segara Anak. The steep slopes of this mountain, declared a national reserve, is covered in dense forest.
