On the slopes of Mt. Agung is a water playground designed by a prince from the Royal family of Karangasem as his resting place adorned with many water basins, fountains, bizarre statues and figures from fables. With its shallow pools, great beauty and fantastic scenery, this is a perfect family place.
TENGANAN
An original Balinese settlement with its own culture and way of life, long a stronghold of native Bali Aga,. The most striking feature about this walledin isolationist town is its layout, totally different from any other community on Bali. There are two parallel streets lined with walled living compounds, all nearly identical. These wide, stone-paved streets rise up so the rain flows down, providing drainage. Water buffalo graze peacefully on lovely spacious lawns gracing the village. The only sign of the 20th century are the TV antennas piercing rooftops.
GOA LAWAH
A bat cave, the roof of which iscarpeted with tens of thousands of fluttering, squeaking and vibrating bats an awesome sight. This cave is said to extend all the way to the base of Mt. Agung, and is located inside a temple courtyard.
PADANGBAI
Here you will find a perfect pearl-shaped bay and tiny port of transit for the neighboring island of Lombok. A pleasant, relaxed town with its own maritime rhythm, white sandy beach with palm trees, and to the southwest is a black sand beach where people seldom go.
